An Adventurous Day

We heard about this really cool place, so we went to investigate. We rode our bikes as far as we could.
Then we went on foot .........
and kept going on foot

We saw the boulders but could not find a path to them so we waited for dad to find one.
One good thing came out of all that waiting. Abby found a pretty flower while dad was still looking for a good way to the boulders.

Mrs, Anne was right! This is a "magical place".
The rocks just keep going on and on.
We had a great time exploring .
Now you know it's big when my dad looks small!
It is such a mystical dream-like place.

When daddy was stepped down right here in the picture.
What he did not know was, there in the side of the boulder was a crack and inside the crack was a 1 1/2 foot Rattle Snake! When dad's foot hit the ground, the snake started to rattle and daddy jumped back with a "WOOOOO!!!!"
Boy that was scary! Thank the Lord he didn't get bit. After that...... weeee... decided not to come back till winter...... when everything is sleeping.
And we were really careful on the way home.






It's like a secret stairway hidden from the world.
Coming back Blaze helped pull Eli out of the thick grass.
Then when we got home Eli decided he would ride solo..... with no training wheels.
"Watch out! Here I come"!
Not too bad for a first try.

Eli loves to work hard or how he calls it "Man Work".

He helped plant flowers
Then the next day Daddy almost got bitten by a Copperhead ! He was weed-wacking and did not see the snake and accidentally hit it with the weed-wacker , before the snake could bite him. That was a close one!
Can you see the snake?
