Abigail's Birthday Blessing

On Feb 5 1998 you took your first breath into this world. Your little head full of hair, your eyes bright as stars, your hands and feet sweet and gentle, your tender quiet peacefulness overwhelmed me with joy. Abigail, truly you are the meaning of your name – fathers joy.
Shortly after you were born I lifted you up to God and thanked him for allowing me to be blessed with you. As I held you up so high with my arms reaching toward God I prayed that God would bless you with His spirit, strengthen you with His might and use you to His glory.
As you grew your tender nature and sensitive spirit was always an encouragement to your mother and I. Your discernment of right and wrong was amazing at such an early age as you tenderly would turn your face away from what was not right. God had gifted you with wisdom that was carried out with child like faith that convicted me of wrongs in my life that I had needed to change.  God was using you already by the age of 3.

You were so trusting and always followed your mom and sisters instructions.  I remember naptime with you and Madison. I would lie in the bed between the two of you and when Madison thought I was asleep she would wake you up and ya’ll would sneak out of the room.  I so miss those days of holding you that close.
And on this day of Feb 5th 2011, I want to solemnly bless you for the rest of your life as you become the woman that God intends on you to be. The day will come when I have to give you up to a young man and that day will be here sooner than I want. But you must be prepared, your heart must be pure, your mind must be on Christ, your vision must be on Gods Kingdom and His will.

Today Abigail I want this blessing to resound in your heart for all the years you have in this earth.  May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious unto you. May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.  If you will hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord your God, to observe and to do all his commandments which He commands this day, the Lord your God will set you on high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come on you and overtake you, if you shall hearken unto the voice of the Lord your God. Blessed shall you be in the city and blessed shall you be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of your body and the fruit of your ground. Blessed shall be your basket and your store. Blessed shall you be when you come in and blessed shall you be when you go out.   Num 6:24-26, Deu 28:1-6
Abigail may you be fruitful and multiple, may your children and your children’s children be blessed with good health and God’s vision that will carry on for generations to come.  May you increase in fear of the Lord and wisdom and understanding.  May you always be filled with humility and compassion. May you know His will and be in submission to Christ at all times.

Finally- Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.   Rom 15:13
And the God of peace be with you. Amen.   Rom 15:33
Love,
Daddy

Abigail, what a Sweet Blessing your daddy wrote for you. You are truely the gentle, sweet spirit, he writes of. Papa & I remember your discernment of right & wrong at such a young age. You would RUN {sort of sideways--looking away) & pop the "off button" on the TV when an unappropriate {anything} came across the screen. You have always been a delight to our hearts. We love you more than you will ever know.
Abigail, Take diligent heed to do the commandments of the law, which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all His ways, and to keep His commandments, and to cleave unto Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul. Joshua 24:5
May you be blessed, our sweet Granddaughter, all of your days.
Happy, Happy Birthday
All Our Love, Papa & Granny
